The intent of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is to build a foundation for students to become digitally literate, safe, and responsible in a digital world. Whether that is learning to write a program, mastering creative tools and software, or developing an awareness of their digital persona.
At Key Stage 3, the course builds on the foundation skills learnt in earlier years. The curriculum enables pupils to use technology effectively, safely and responsibly. It provides challenges and new experiences in digital literacy, digital media, office skills and programming, combining blended learning with self-study courses like IDEA badges.
At IGCSE, students study the International IGCSE, which develops an understanding of the implications of technology in society and the ways Information and Communication Technology (ICT) can help at home, work and the wider world. There is an emphasis on developing lifelong skills, which are essential across the curriculum and for their future career.
