The TCI Education Foundation is a not-for-profit institution registered under the Companies Ordinance and was founded to promote education in the Turks and Caicos Islands, and, in particular, to operate and promote the British West Indies Collegiate which it established in 1993. The Foundation is responsible for the depth of teaching and the range of equipment, resources, and facilities offered at the Collegiate. Its board of directors, known as the ‘Council’, exercises general control over the Collegiate, approves major expenditures, and determines matters of policy. The Senior Management Team, headed by the principal, is responsible for day-to-day management. The Foundation depends on donations for student scholarships, adding to and upgrading the school’s facilities, for acquiring equipment and services, and for maintaining the school campus.
